Horace Mann Elementary School

Rain Garden Project Overview
The Horace Mann Elementary School Rain Garden Project at 3745 S. Broadway was a partnership project between the Horace Mann Parent Teacher Association (PTA), Stormwater Engineering, and James River Basin Partnership (JRBP). The garden was initiated by a PTA parent with funding provided by a Rotary Club grant, the PTA, and Stormwater Engineering.

This project was completed in September 2008. The rain garden was planted in an existing low area that catches runoff from roof downspouts and the surrounding area. The garden was planted by JRBP staff and PTA parents and kids. View photos from the Horace Mann Elementary School rain garden project.
