The Springfield Police Department hosts informational seminars for anyone interested in becoming a police officer with the SPD.

The seminars are held at the Springfield Regional Police and Fire Training Center, 2620 W. Battlefield. The next seminar will be at 6 p.m. on Aug. 29, 2016. Registration is not necessary.

Attendees will learn about the entire testing process which includes the physical agility test, written examination, oral interview, background investigation and post-offer exam. Attendance at this seminar is not mandatory for future applicants, but the information provided may prove to be helpful to them during the testing process.

The SPD has also recently begun offering quarterly virtual Q&A sessions with Officer Brandon Keene, resource management officer, using an app from Twitter called Periscope. This app allows the department to broadcast live video to any users in the world while also allowing followers to type in comments or questions during the broadcast. SPD can be found on the Periscope app at @SGFPolice. Check back for updates to find out about the next virtual Q&A session with Officer Keene.

More information about the testing process can be found on the City Jobs page or by contacting Officer Brandon Keene at 417-864-1796 or BKeene@springfieldmo.gov
