FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Springfield Fire Department, Battlefield Fire Protection District and Community Blood Center of the Ozarks are partnering to help save lives this Fire Prevention Month.

Those who donate blood 9 a.m.-5 p.m. today at Community Blood Center of the Ozarks, 220 W. Plainview Road, will also have the opportunity to learn a life-saving skill. Springfield and Battlefield firefighters will be on hand to teach blood donors how to use a fire extinguisher using a fire extinguisher simulator.

Donors will receive hands-on training and important advice about how to protect themselves from fire. Save a life and learn how to save your own!
