Missouri Job Center to host seasonal hiring event for Park Board, 3/16

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Ozark Region Workforce Development Board and the Missouri Job Center will be assisting the Springfield-Greene County Park Board with a Seasonal Hiring Event on Wednesday, March 16. The event will be held 3-7 p.m. at the Mediacom Ice Park, 635 E. Trafficway.

The Missouri Job Center's Mobile Career Center will be available for online applications, while the School-Park (SPARC) Division, Aquatics Division, Concessions Division, Youth and Adult Sports Division, Botanical Center Division, Golf Division, Park Operations Division, and Northview Center Division will all be available for interviews and questions regarding positions.

Seasonal employees typically work from April to September, and may work up to 40 hours a week. Seasonal positions are a great summer job opportunity for all ages from students to retired workers. Each division has specific age requirements, but positions are available for workers as young as 15 years old. Positions are available to fit all interests including positions as counselors, lifeguards, maintenance workers, cashiers, umpires, front desk, and more.

“The Park Board offers great opportunities for a first job, as well as great hands-on experience for anyone interested in a career in sports and recreation,” said Anne-Mary McGrath, Park Board superintendent of recreation. “Many of our full time staff started out as summer seasonal employees. But it’s not just for first-time job seekers — we have opportunities for all ages, anyone who has availability during the summer.”
