FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Missouri Job Center is now accepting applications for the EPA training program announced earlier this year. The Green for Greene training program is funded by a $200,000 grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Environmental Workforce Development and Job Training (EWDJT) program. The three year grant will provide two classes with 28 students each a variety of the certifications needed for high paying "green" jobs.

The following certifications were chosen for the program based on the local need expressed by area employers: OSHA HAZWOPER; OSHA 10; Environmental Sampling and Monitoring; Trenching and Excavation; Confined Space; Lead Renovation, Repair, and Painting; Lead Abatement Worker; Asbestos Worker/Handler; Stormwater Management; Forklift Driver; First Aid/CPR; and Commercial Driver License (CDL).

The first, five week class will begin in February 2017 with the second class starting in February 2018. Information sessions are being held at the Missouri Job Center and the Fairbanks through January 2017 for those interested in applying. Those interested in the program are encouraged to attend an upcoming information session and follow the Facebook Page at www.facebook.com/GreenforGreene.
