Program Overview . . .
Women, Infants and Children (WIC) is a special supplemental nutrition program with a strong emphasis on education about nutrition-based health. The program provides nutrition education, screening, risk assessment and counseling to pregnant women, new mothers, infants and children up through five years old.

WIC also provides vouchers to purchase nutritious supplemental foods like milk, eggs, cheese, juice, cereal, peanut butter, and/or dry beans or peas at several local businesses.

Eligibility . . .

WIC is open to individuals who meet income guidelines and are determined by health professionals to be at nutritional risk. The unborn child is counted as a member of the family when eligibility is determined. Income guidelines are based on 185% of poverty level..

The Women, Infants and Children Clinic is located at 290 East Central and is open Monday through Thursday 7:30 am to 7:00 pm and Friday 7:30 am to 5:00 pm.

Additional Services . . .
WIC also provides the following services to its clients:
     Childhood immunizations
     Blood lead testing
     Nutrition education
     Breastfeeding education
     Dental health education
     Mental health services in partnership with Burrell Behavioral Health
     Doula services in partnership with the Doula Foundation of Mid-America
     Medical services in partnership with Family Nurse Practitioner Rose Mary Brietling, serving at          the Jordan Valley Community Health Center
