What is "express" testing? Express testing is essentially a simple urine and blood sample STD test that can be used by clients who do not have symptoms of an infection. "Express" refers to the ease of submitting a sample only. Test results take approximately 7-10 days to be completed. This new type of testing replaces the traditional (and often uncomfortable) swab sample technique for the diseases listed below. If a recent sexual partner has been diagnosed with gonorrhea, Chlamydia, syphilis, or trichomoniasis, you will need to be seen by the nurse to receive treatment. Treatment is extremely important to your health.
Please note: Antibiotics can cause gonorrhea and Chlamydia test results to be inaccurate. Please wait three weeks after you have finished antibiotics to be tested for gonorrhea and/or Chlamydia.
Available Tests Tests available in the express clinic include any of the following:
Chlamydia - Urine test (Do no urinate for at least one hour before testing)
Gonorrhea - Urine test (Do no urinate for at least one hour before testing)
Trichomoniasis (Do not urinate for at least one hour before testing)
Hepatitis B - Blood draw on request only ($30 fee)
HIV - Blood draw
Syphilis - Blood draw
